Learn how to use artificial intelligence fairly, safely and responsibly, from spotting bias and protecting personal data to recognising deepfakes and AI-enabled fraud.
3 modules · 9 lessons · 1 h 45 min
Understand the core values of responsible AI and how fairness, bias, accountability and transparency apply to real decisions.
Learn how explainability, strong data protection and the ability to spot misinformation and deepfakes help people trust AI-supported services.
Recognise how AI systems are attacked and how criminals use AI for fraud, and put simple governance rules in place for safe use in your organisation.
AI is quickly becoming part of public services, banking, education and the media in Somalia. These tools can save time and improve services, but they can also treat people unfairly, expose personal data, spread false information and open new doors for criminals. Everyone who uses or manages AI needs to understand these risks.
This course gives you a practical foundation in three areas: the ethics of AI (fairness, bias, accountability and transparency), trust (explainability, privacy and misinformation) and security (attacks on AI systems, AI-enabled fraud and safe use in organisations). Each lesson uses examples from Somalia and East Africa, and the course ends with a short project you can apply in your own workplace.
